As some of you know, I had been working on my Entertainment Center for a while now. I am glad it is done! I was dying to make some kind of project no matter how small. As some of you know, Blondie and I live in Southern California. A bunch of my Co-workers as you can imagine, love to surf.

A good friend of mine makes some amazing surf boards around 15 inches long with fins as well. I recently saw some on here made by fellow Lumberjock Scrappy & decided I had to give it a go. Thx Scrappy!

I made 10 of these key chains, and they were going quick before I got a chance to take pictures of all of them.

They are made from a mixture of woods, Black Walnut, Paduak, Zebra wood, Cherry, Rock Maple & Purple Heart. I even shaped the nose and hand sanded the round over.

Quick yet fun and the boys Loved them when I gave them away as gifts.

The pics are not my best Sorry

All comments are welcome. Thx for looking.

I have been waiting to see these ever since you mentioned them the other day… great looking key rings…
Next try a slightly larger one and cut out a shape inside to make a photo frame…just an idea…

Hay Ken Great Job!!! I always said to make it you either have to have something that no one else has or cut everyones throat. I have never seen mini surf boards before. So kudos to you my man! & BTW I do a little of both. Ted. LOLOLOL

I have a friend that enjoys surfing and I was thinking just a few days ago about making him a mini surfboard. I wanted to make one with a fin. Yours look so very good, pretty sharp. Thanks for mentioning the LJ named Scrappy, I’m going to look at his next. And thanks for the posting.

Thx everyone they were fun.

I made one with fins buy when in your pocket it was uncomfortable….

Eric I started with spray shellac, but didnt like it. So I used my mini spray gun and used general finishes enduro Var gloss . I’ll call you about the wood working show in vegas, We might be able to meet up and drive together as I have to come back sat morning as well. We have a party we need to attend Sat night.

Very cool boards. I really like the look of the different woods used.

Glad I could inspire some one, the way soo many here have inspired me to try new things.

Keep it up.
