The last of the Walnut my friend and his dad cut around 30 years ago – Designed these two boxes for their daughters. I put in some Greene and Greene features – faded indent and floating the ebony on the bread-board. I added a till made from Maple and put in a tongue & groove floor. The end plugs are Mtn. Mahogany. Finish is Poly – 3 coats sealer, 3 coats semi-gloss and wax.

Thats some wild looking walnut, I like it!! I have not made any thing with walnut yet other than a chess set I made several years ago, turns like butter and smells even better!!! Very nice, I think the girls will love them.

Beautiful job Schroeder. I bet you are sorry to see all of that Walnut go.

That has some really interesting grain, and your finish really shows it off.
Have your say...
