It has been a year

A freind of mine told me that I had not been in the forum for a year. It didn’t seem that long but I guess it has been.

So I thought I should post a few more bits of my work.

This piece was made a few months ago and appologies if you have seen it on other forums.

Turned from spalted silver birch. Around 7 inches dia x 4 inches high or there abouts.

Stabalized with super glue after which it was buffed and finished in renaissance wax.

Comment welcome.

Take care

Mark

Hi Kent

thank you for your comment. The wood was quite punky and it almost ended up on the fire pile. But I am glad I persevered. It took about half a pot of CA glue.

Thanks again foryour comment.

It’s glorius. The small pieces I’ve attempted in spalt have exploded on my lathe. This takes patience and skill, no doubt about it.

Lovely bold form & turn Mark complimented by a great piece of timber, that is a very graceful fall from the shoulder to the base. :))

Hi all

Thanks you for your comments.

The wood is something special when you can catch it before it gets too punky. It has so much going on that I like to only turn a simple form to show it off.
