This goes along with my Ryoba saw holder i posted recently Here
This is my veritas “dovetail saw”. Personally i think it is a horrible dovetail saw. if anyone uses that free hand let me know and also if you use wood thicker than like 3/8”. With 22tpi it is not a fast cutting saw and with dovetails most people (including me) want to get it done quick and this is ridiculously slow at ripping as its a cross cutting blade. I first started cutting with this saw, 22tpi crosscut, then was like hey i love my ryoba saw and said why not. so i tried the 17 tpi cross cut and it was ok, way better than the other, and then i went to the 12tpi (i think) rip blade and that was amazingly quick and clean. So anyway back to the “dovetail” saw holder.
There is a groove for the teeth to sit in and it holds it in there due to that little corner triangle seen in the third picture. The corner pice is 2 pieces of scrap piece that was like a 32nd inch thick. One was put in and filled with CA and then the face piece was put on. The little ledge that the blade sits on had end grain showing so i mitered it an cut off the excess, as seen in the last pic.
