I found some Cedar and put it on the lathe to see what would come out. Everything was going great until the knot which is now missing shot out of the wood while I was finishing.g the bottom. I ended up saving the piece and finished the bottom and hand sanded it and threw some turners polish on it . Thank goodness the hole didn’t end up.blowing up on me.

I myself love to turn Cedar. I too love the smell. The wife will come out to the shop and says it smells like a hamster cage. She think it stinks. Thanks for the comment and I appreciate what you said Chuck.

It is Ron. Light wood is sap wood and dark is heart wood.

Very nice. You must have large Cedars in your area.

I am in central Florida and I d on’t think they are very big. A friend in my wood turning.g club had a neighbor that had some Cedar trees uproot themselves when we had those 5 hurricanes back to back in 04-05 and they have been cut up and drying since then. I was happy when he let me take them off of his hand. He has a bunch left and I’m gonna have to go pay him another visit.
