Our dogs are an important part of our lives. Many of you share that sentiment, I see. Our Abby (Weimeraner), Molly (Miniature Schnauzer), and Nolla (son’s Weimeraner Lab mix in crate training with the older dogs before off to college) stay in our bedroom for sleep and rest. The large crate (30×48) by itself served them well, but it just didn’t cut it for the aesthetic vibe. Also, wide open it seemed like the dogs were more in our space than necessary.
I built the table over to exactly fit over the crate without interference to the front door. The table is made of birch top with pine finger-jointed RB3 edge trim, maple legs with pine screen bead vertical edges, then primed with Zinsser spray primer, puttied and sanded, then followed by three (3) coats of Gloss Black Rustoleum Universal Advanced Formula All Surface Paint.
We like this arrangement much better. The top is very useful (I keep one of my cameras and tripod there).
The dogs seem to like it better, too. It’s more “den”-like with a top over them. They go to it readily… seeming to think of it as their place.
Thanks for stopping in.
