Another inlayed wood vase, this one is a darker grouping. Using walnut and mahogany, I use a glass liner which is set inside with a foam strip so it can float. I learned that glass does not have the same expansion rate as wood. (The hard way).

Beautiful inlay on that piece. How tall is it? And I like the innovation about a foam strip to secure the glass liner. That’s one to file away for future reference. Did you hollow this all the way to the bottom?

It’s about 14 inches tall. the inside is hollowed just deep enough for the glass liner. About 8” x 1 3/4’ dia
