I got this blank from a friend (rmoore), thanks Ron. Bowl was turned and finished a while ago. Just got around to getting pics and posting it on here. Bowl was sanded to 320 grit and finished with home made turners polish which is 1/3 BLO, 1/3 Shellac & 1/3 Ventured Alcohol. It turned out like Myland’s Polish. All comments are welcome.

Hmmmm… looks familiar. LOL Nice job. Do you like your home made finish better? Is it cheaper?

Lol..it should..Thanks. As I was turning found a rotten spot. I think it gives the inside a bit of character.

Well done with the bowl. Did you use CA to keep the bark on? Seeing your bowl makes me want to buy some like that and turn it. All I have is TONS of Black Walnut on my acarage.

Thanks..no I didn’t use anything to keep Tue bark on. I don’t use CA unless the bark is coming off. If you cut into the bark instead of cutting out the bark will usually stay on for me. Ambrosia Maple is my favorite kind of wood. It’s great to turn.
