“Rocky Overlook”
This carving was done with a Dremel, and measures 9×39x3/4 inches.
The wood is Aromatic Cedar, I chose the wood because of its imperfections (which give me the subject idea)
It is finished with Polycrylic.
This is a tall rocky cliff with a lighthouse overlooking clouds. There are rocks at the bottom with an abstract wave splashing upwards.
(It took me forever to sand this :) I know all you woodworkers out there probably know exactly what I needed to do to sand this, any tips or ideas you have on sanding tight areas would be appreciated:)
Thanks

Very cool piece! Sometimes your only option is sanding by hand, but then I don’t own a detail sander. In any case you did a great job.

Really impressive carving . I can almost imagine how your cedar board appeared

before you started carving . Very nice in so many ways . I have spent a long time

looking at this and keep revisiting it . The last time i spent this much time looking at

A piece , was a work by German Burkhov . You are very talented in many media .
