This is a simple strip and refinish with a new seat bottom. It will be a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law who expressed an interest in having one of the chairs I have been doing lately.
The frame was in good condition and did not need much work aside from refinishing and a dowel replacement. The wood is Maple I think. I stained it with Puritan Pine color and wove the seat bottom in 5/16 width smoked Caine in a Multi Diamond Pattern.
The finish is Minwax oil.
I included a picture of where it came from to illustrate how much it has been improved.

Nice pattern on this chair, Terry. I like the look of the smoked cane, although I’ve never used it myself. Thanks for the post.
