This is my first carving of a sign. This is a scrap piece of pine 1×4 about 7 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall.
Finished with black spray paint with the colors being the leftover acrylic paint from hobby store; had to mix my own green.
I think my next will definitely be larger. There were several problems starting off with letters that small. It was very hard to get the knife/gouge into the small spots like the dots of the ‘i’s.
I gave this to my cousin for his birthday the other day, he is yet to decide what kind of mount he wants me to put on it for him, a sort of stand so he can set it on his deck or a little wall mount toothed thingy.

Funny ! . . I like it. I think you did just fine on the carving. I would love to start doing a little carving. Just can’t seem to find the time.
