A pair of book cases made for a friend from sassafrass. OOOHHH the aroma in the shop, and a wonderful wood to work with. Stained in golden oak and finished in lacquer

That’s the first sassafrass I’ve seen made into furniture. I’m impressed. I may have to saw a log or two and make some sassafrass lumber.

I would definately encourage cutting up some sassafrass Hal, it is a beautiful wood that has the strength and hardness of poplar, it stays very true and stable and has an appearance of white oak. When milled in the shop the odor is intoxicating, will make the whole shop smell like a rootbeer factory. Enjoy!
