This box was inspired by Doug Stowe’s book on boxmaking; made it as a gift for a friend. Top and splines are reclaimed walnut; sides are an unknown wood reclaimed from an old drawer front I salvaged from a busted-up chest of drawers.
As with the tea box I posted earlier, I didn’t manage to get a photo before I put on the finish and gave it away; it was finished with three coats of wipe-on poly.

Excellent job! I’ve built quite a few of these from his book as well. They are always well received gifts. I did a pretty big batch of them last time, so I’ve got a little stash of gifts on hand! :)
