Split and Shaped Bench

I finally finished a full size bench with the split wood style I’ve been working on. Aside from the thin black trim pieces under the seat area, the project is entirely scrap wood and lumber yard discards. The legs are from those ‘stickers’ that they use under loads of wood during delivery. The top is two boards, one of which had a crack in it when I got it. I split it completely, then shaped it with a planer and sander. Finish is black paint that is watered down to a wash, Safecoat low voc Mahogany color on the front top board, and raw linseed oil. After paint and stain I sanded again with fine steel wool and the top became very smooth, then finally applied linseed 3 coats. Top made some noise when I sat on it originally but it quieted right down after I installed a cross support under the seat.
