Custom Picture Frame for a friend. I used ten different hardwoods, and every kind of joinery I could think of. She loved it! I used purple heart, oak, rose wood, zebra, beech, mahogany, walnut, poplar, paduk, and one other one I don’t know. I did a splined miter, beveled butt-joint, half-lap, dovetail, pocket screws, finger joints, a bowtie’d miter, and a compound miter to hold it together. It holds a 13”x13” picture.

Thanks for looking!

Cool frame. It matches the matting very well.

Thanks guys! I designed the frame with the joints and wood, and LOML did the color designs and where to put each one. She has a great eye for that stuff!

I have had this idea in my head for a while now. I was going to make one, but now you did so I don’t have to! I very much like the idea.
