Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. My first mallet: its nothing fancy but it sure is completely homemade … pecan handle from a tree I cut down 2 years ago and a maple head from a large limb I pruned 2 winters ago. A little Early American stain and there it is.

I made a mallet from a maple tree cut down from my Father in laws. It is one of my most cherished and used tools. Nothing like making a tool yourself.
