Hmmm. I thought a Cajun was a Louisianna resident….. I have no idea what it is but anything bright yellow and red has my attention!!

Its a Spanish musical instrument if I'm not mistaken. Used in Flamenco dancing/music. Cajon means Big box.

it's like a drum, you beat on it. look around on youtube.com you'll see guys playing them.

That's a pretty one. The hole is smaller than most that I've seen. Looks like you did a good job though. I tried my hand at making one of these after first seeing a friend play one. I failed miserably, made it too thick. The friend that owned the one I was referring to is a Flamenco guitar player and his wife a dancer. My friend told that cajons first came from Peru. Although yours does bear a striking resemblance to a Spanish version of one that he showed me, his didn't have the fancy top. He also had a German version with all the "bells and whistles". It was the one I tried to copy.

It's a beautiful cajon, a strange one because the top and the small hole….......but a nice one.
Good work.
