This project came about because the couch in my den was too large. I liked the mission style and decided I’d try to build a loveseat using the springs from an old crib as the base for my seat cushion (for which I covered a baby bed mattress). Again I was unable to find a “free pattern” for this but improvised and did my own design. I used reclaimed oak flooring – my old standby – for the slats. The rest of the oak came from some 10’ 1X10’s I’d lucked up on at at sawmill that was going out of business for the lowly price of $5/board. Wish I could get more of that.

Looks like you’ve been busy, and now you’ve found a place to show off yer goodies.
Got a website?

You’re right… keeping busy in the woodshop. I do have a website—in fact a couple – but it has nothing pertaining to woodworking on it. I also do computer graphics and build websites. Don’t think you’d be interested in that. That’s a thought though… maybe I should do a website of my woodworking projects… trials… and tribulations.

I make my own websites also, and was a computer service technician for 5 years.
www.ye-olde-cabinet-shoppe.com/ started out as a place to show my work and keep all of my favorites in one spot since I formatted on a regular basis. But recently Lumberjocks.com has catapulted my website from page 24 on a Google Search to page one when you type in “The Cabinet Shoppe” and page two when you type in “Ye Olde Cabinet Shoppe”.
So the website is getting more hits since I joined this happy little band of wood freaks. I’ve finally found a home on the internet.
