hi this is my take on building a rocking in scott morrison style ‘i wanted to build a rocking chair for myself for a long time but was not sure of what kind of rocker to build i wanted something that was different from the normal rocker that you see around here in Ireland so when i saw some of the beautiful rockers that was posted here on LJ

i decided i would have a go and try to build one for my self but was not sure if i would ever be able to carry out such a project so i took the bull by the horns and sent away for a set of plans and dvd of scott morrison rocker

so after about 140 hours give or take a few hours and a lot of head scratching this is what i ended up with it is not perfect but i am pleased with it

its made out of maughney and oak sanded to 1000 grid and finished with 8 coats off denish oil

please let me know what you think all comments welcome GOOD OR BAD i will not be offended

p.s i final figure it out, so here some more pictures.thanks for being patient

I never grow tired of seeing such fine examples of these rockers. Yours included Branch. I really like the way you did the rockers and the contrast of the two species of wood.

An absolutely gorgeous rocker… a piece of art I say. If this is not perfect I don’t know what is. I’m not sure I would take on such a huge project but I’m tempted to try now that I’ve seen yours. Congrats and thanks for sharing. It’s in my favorites :-)

Well done my friend. Great wood choice and attention to detail. You did the plans and the wood proud.
Glad to hear you are recovering as well.
