This box started out as a project for a class I was taking. The box is made out of African Mahogany. There are maple splines in the joints, but I forgot to take pictures of them. My wife’s aunt’s dog had just passed away, so I decided to make it for her. Cleo was the best dog she ever had. My brother’s friend has a laser engraver, and I sent him the picture and the lid to work his magic. I finished the box with a few coats of shellac and then some paste wax. It was a fun project to make. It was the first time I did a cove on the table saw.

Great work, and perfect engraving! Sorry to here about your wife’s Aunt losing her buddy!

I have a Chlt Lab who I love to death. She got in a fight last weekend with a pit bull and we had to take her to the hospital. What a sick feeling. Thank-fully only minor injuries and she surprisinly held her own, and they really went at it.

Great present and I’m sure she loved it!

We live kinda close, were down in Long Beach, I use to come up to Oxnard all the time.

Wow that is beautiful. I love animals, that was a very nice thing you did for her. When my dog was put down in November. I made a plaque for him and i have it on my table to rember him every day.

A treasure box to hold a special treasure.
Well done.
