Made this night light for my 5 year old and 2 year old daughters hoping they would start sleeping in their own room… Worked for about two nights now they are back in bed with mommy and i’m stuck on the couch…. Got to love being the only man in the house! Base made out of Poplar with a dark walnut danish oil finish….

Beyond the sentiment, which is simply lovely; and beyond the story, which is tear-jerking; How did you do this? I imagine an inset LED, some etching of some sort, please do tell!!!!!

Lovely job – and second half of the the message is a lot more cheerful than the version with:

’. . . . .
If I shall die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take’

Nice work, however I think the following is MUCH better than the original or the one you used:

As I lay me down to sleep,
a bag of peanuts at my feet,
if I die before I wake,
give them to my brother Jake.

Thanks everyone for the kind words…. Bertha, you are exactly right….The base has a 3/8 morstise cut to hold the LED strip, then a 1/2 mortise cut over that to hold the plexi glass, (screws from bottom hold it nice and tight) I had the glass etched at work… Added a $5 power supply to power lights…. As far as the version of the prayer, my wife thought this would be more suitable for the girls..Thanks again..
