I built this for a friend who wanted something to give to his brother as a birthday gift. I asked what he liked and was told he was a Fliers fan. I thought about several different ideas, and finally decided to give inlay work a try. I learned a lot of how to’s and what not to do’s. Over all it was a lot of fun and I plan to do some more inlay work in the future. The maple and padauk inlay is about 1/8 of an inch deep. Thanks for looking

How unfortunate that a nice box like that is tarnished with that team’s logo. Shameful.

@ DIYaholic, Thank you for the compliment on my box and inlay. I understand that sports fans are competitive by nature and the competition between teams can over power good judgement. It took me a little while to realize that your first statement was directed at the team and not my work. Not being a sports fan, I sometimes forget that the etiquette of sports fan is different than what I find comfortable.
It you would like a box inlayed with your team of choice then send me a personal message. I would be more than happy to make one with any team that you would like.
Thanks again,
Joey

After reading your comment and thinking on a response for a while, I realized that there was nothing nice about your comment. I don’t mind constructive criticism, I actually like it, as I think it helps me get better. What you did in my opinion was make a very Passive-Aggressive attack on my work. So when you said that my inlay looked like crap, even with a LOL and JK it is still offensive and hurtful. In this case the LOL and JK just made it “OK” to be passive aggressive.
I just think that it may be wise to make sure you know the person you send a comment like that to. What ever your meaning was you said something insulting about my work. Directly at my work!
I accept your apology, I just hope that we take a moment to reread our comments to see what they say. The only thing I see when I read your is my work is crap and your grandmother can do better. So no matter what else you said or meant, that is what I see.
Joey
