I found these designs online and kinda ‘borrowed’ them to make bookends for my daughter. This was my most intricate scroll saw project when I started and it came out pretty good I think. My daughter, who just turned 2, loves owls and there’s a purple and green theme in her room so these work out great.

those look really good! how did you do the owl eyes and leaves? did you cut the holes out on two identical pieces, then sandwhich the panel inside or some other (easier) way?

These are one sided, and I cut out the eyes and leaves on my scroll saw first and then clamped it and cut the outsides. Then I stained the green before glueing it all together. I didn’t know a better way to keep the green from the purple, I’m not a very good painter.
