Im building a similar project as I like the “parquet look” but Im having trouble clamping my glue up flat. How did you do yours?

I just put another clamp or two in the middle vertically against a flat piece of wood and then sanded the snot out of it.

Are your squares glued to a flat board underneath or just glued to each other? Sorry for all the questions but I want this to work.

They were just glud to each other, but I did have to pry it off the flat piece of wood. But inside the cover, under the mirror, it looks like the top, just really rough.
