Here’s another end-grain cutting board made of Purpleheart and White Guayana Rosewood. Finished it with butcher block conditioner (mineral oil and beeswax). Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

Nice board. The very first one I made was close to this. My pattern came from the Woodwhisper then I grew from there. One pointer as you make more that others taught me is to watch the grain orientation. If you look at the 2 bottom rows the PH it changes direction. Only trying to help, like others did for me.

Welcome to LJ’s and have fun!

Looks great!
I made a cutting board very much like this did you use cauls on the edges? I looks like the square corners don’t exactly line up. Unless that was done on
Purpose. All the corners not matching up though loooks fine though because It is consistent

I too like the slight off centre asymmetrical look…very sharp… and the colour is fabulous…

@Everett1 – I used cauls, but my cutting was a little off, which caused the mismatching of corners. Well, that and laziness to not fix it ;-)

@degoose – Thanks! My wife loves the colors too, and in my house THAT is really what counts.
