This is the first time I have made bar stools let alone 100% Juniper Wood. As many know, Juniper is a very “wild” wood to work with. It took a lot of my seasoned Juniper stock to get the 16 straight legs needed. We would cut the 2.5×2.5 inch pieces and the next day some would be warped. Even though this wood has been in my garage for over a year cut down to Fireplace Mantel size pieces and some still had enough moisture content to warp.
I finished each stool with 2 coats of Tung Oil followed by 2 coats of a Satin Polycrylic finish on the legs and 4 coats on the seats.
It took a lot more time than anticipated but, as you can see, the end result was worth it and the client is very pleased. Hope you enjoy them too,

thanks, I used a combination of heart wood/sap wood to provide the variety. They came out really nice.
