This is a hall table that I was asked to build for a friend at work. It is made of walnut and I decided to leave the sapwood in as a design feature. It is 42” high and 49” long. I added the bread board ends as I had never tried this and I thought it would add to the look. In the end he was very happy and it has a good place in his new apartment.

questions and comments are always welcome.

I like your table. My parents have a walnut tree next to their house. I wish they’d drop it so I could use some of the wood for a table like this.

I adore sapwood contrast! It sure does make it hard to work with so far as consistency sometimes though. You did a beautiful job!
