This was a totally fun project … see my Blog for the construction details .. from the wood pickup to the final assembly. Table is made from Jatoba with some Ebony inlays for accent and an Olive Wood veneer on the top of the storage cabinet. Storage cabinet has a drawer in it. Also has one removable leaf. 40” x 48” w/o leaf, 40” x 66” w/ leaf, 43” tall to match the breakfast bar height. Finish is 5 coats of Natural Danish Oil on all surfaces with an additional 3 coats of 50/50 blend of Danish Oil/Poly on the table and cabinet tops. Started in late Dec, 2010 and will deliver to the customer, my son, this weekend. Last photo shows the wood pickup, I have lots left for the charis and whatever comes up after them. Next to last an in-process close up of the Olive Wood veneer. Enjoy.

Very beautiful job on this table. I like the expandable feature with the leaf. That’s some nice looking olive veneer. Great design and workmanship. Thanks for the post.

Great looking pieces. The olive veneer is very cool, I like how it looks like a butterfly or an hour glass.

If this was a ‘fun’ project, what sort of work do you do when you get serious ? LOL
