Laptop Desks

Hi everyone,
I made 4 of these laptop desks for the family, my three kids and my wife. They are made from plywood recycled from an entertainment center found along the road on trash day. Good thing I have a van and keep some tools in it for just this purpose. It had to be taken apart on site as it was too big and heavy to fit in my minivan! I got the plans from one of the online woodworking magazine sites, I don’t remember which one. My youngest daughter (19) wanted her’s with blue whales on it to go with her “Kraken” named laptop.
Thanks for looking.

Kraken, eh? dig the name. My computers are named Persphone and Sisyphus (and the last one was Cerberus). My network is Elysian Fields…. Kinda have a naming theme going there…

Love the design. The holes are awesome because they allow for cooling.

Looks good. I like the creativity with the exhaust holes. I’ve got the same plans. I received them from Popular Woodworking. Haven’t made one yet but I plan to put an exhaust fan on the bottom of mine. IMO the holes in the tray are inadequate. Another idea would be to use some caning. You know, that wicker type stuff you see on chairs. These are just my thoughts.

Nice stands. Good idea for the cooling holes.
