My wife has been looking for an end table that would fit between the couch and the sofa chair. It is the perfect height and angle to fit. I decided that i would give it a try.

I made it out of scrap wood that have come across here and there (dumpsters). The wood is Dark walnut and oak. After the initial glue up, i decided that i couldn’t bear to put any nails/screws in it, so i used dowels. I used pine dowels as well as bamboo dowels (chopstick: i got the idea when my wife and I went out to dinner with friends). I decided to use the dowels for the contrasting color effect.

I hope you all enjoy my project.

I would really appreciate feedback.

Thank you
Robert

Workerinwood: Thanks. I have to make one more end table like that one. I’m going to try to incorporate mesquite onI’m still practicing different technique’s with different woods, so I don’t know yet.

Nice, I too have used chopsticks for dowels before !!!

The legs even look similar to the ones on my Walnut/Oak end table in my projects.

Nice combination of woods. Need to find some of those dumpsters you have been diving in.
