This is a cottonwood bark carving that I just completed. Most of the carvings that I do are western figures so I have to be pay attention to a lot of little details. With this type of carving you just need to see something in the bark and start carving. You can make things up as you go along.

Mike, to say that you need to pay attention to the little details is somewhat of an understatement. The details in this carving are simply awesome. I greatly admire the skill and patience that it takes to produce a piece of this quality.
Thanks for sharing.
