This is a door and jamb that I built for my sister’s new home. It is hand planed and distressed alder, with a glaze and lacquer finish. The second photo shows the planed and distressed surface a little better.

Wow. That is a really gorgeous door. I love the curves. They add such a nice element to both the door and trim.

I’ve seen a few doors made on TV and know that isn’t not an easy project. You managed to make it even harder by adding a curved top, special inserts and build the frame!!! WOW nice workmenship. Than you don’t build it for yourself so at least you can leave the mistakes in. Than you build it for a relative and a close one that you will see again. I wood need a print and you standing next to me before I could even think of doing a project like that. Great project, thanks for sharing.
