These are very nice pieces and I enjoy the story behind them. You are preserving a piece of your personal history by using the burls from your childhood home. Obviously your parents knew exactly what to give you for Christmas.
Thanks for sharing.

About a month….
I have had the lathe for a while, but no tools. I just periodically put a piece of lumber on the face plate and watched it go around.
Now I’m hooked. And for the first time ever, all of my files & rasps have handles.
The last wind storm took down some nice old trees, so my friends & clients have amassed a collection of Manitoba maple & Hard maple burls. It’s kind of neat for every piece to have a story.
