I had a variety of scrap wood that I glued together and put on the lathe. Not sure of all the varieties but it looks like walnut, purpleheart, oak, maple, cherry, and who knows what. The finish is a wipe on poly.

hi very nice i like the shape and the wood you used the are no such thing as scrap timber one just has to figure out how to make use of it and you did a great job on using yours small pieces of timber

My wife is a Quilter, this reminds me of one of her patchwork quilts, more like a jig saw, the iregular patern works well with this one & does indeed looks like a collection of left over scraps, well done

I agree with peteg, my is a quilter too and that is what I thought of when I first looked at this piece. This is a striking piece to look at!!
