Apologies for the poor quality photos. My wife and I decided to get a playhouse for our firstborn’s third birthday. After spending considerable time looking at the new kits as well as used sets on craigslist, I decided I could save us some cash and build a better one than what was available. 40 hours and $1500 later I’ve nearly finished this playhouse. Constructed entirely of western cedar, using bolts and deck screws. I followed the national safety guidelines to ensure it was constructed in such a way to minimize potential injuries. I’ve still got some of the finish trim to do, as well as a swing/monkey bars off the back side (which will connect to my eventual “brewers cabana”). Pretty happy with the results, especially considering a similar kit would have cost us at least double what I spent. My daughters love it!. I was worried my oldest would be to afraid of the climbing wall, but after one lesson she climbed it like she was a rock rat in Yosemite!

Looks great. I bought one last year and I bet it took me as long to build from plans as it did you from scratch.

I’ll echo Rex’s comments. You probably got better quality and less frustration (due to poor instructions and missing parts). Very nice work!

Great job. That will sure get their imaginations working overtime.
