This is one of four stools I made for a client. Made of oak, the seat is 9 1/2” x 17 1/2” and 33” tall. Most bar stools are 29” tall, but the clients bar is taller than normal.

Nice lines. How did you carve out the seat?

Hi jack,
I cut most of the seat out with the bandsaw, then sanded with my random orbital sander from 60 to 150 grit.

Great project…..I believe I saw something similar in one of my recent magazines….I was thinking about making something like this to use at my drafting table (except I want something that swivels)......I like the lines of this one….and the carved seat…Although, I am not a big fan of oak (probably because it is so prevalent in my area)...You did an excellent job.
