Wood rack for storage

Project by Davesfunwoodworking posted 663 days ago 643 views 0 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Well I had to come up with space in my shop for my wood. I have alot of tools and not much wall space. So one day me and my son set out to make a wood rack. After a few hours of drawing, moving tools, Nothing worked for my wood shop. I was joking around with him and said, wouldnt it be cool if we could hang it and have it lower down to me? Then I could have it go back up. Well after a lot of planing and going over How much my roof could hold and wait size I wanted it to be, We went to work. It is 6 feet by 7 feet. It goes up and down with pulleys and a winch.

Not hard at all. I used a 2000lb 12volt truck winch with a 12 volt battery. Thanks for the kind words.

That is an outstanding idea. You have put some essentially dead space to use. Very innovative and well engineered (I hope).

Thanks for sharing.

I just love rolling the dice on here. I have thought of doing the same thing but never gave it much more thought. Glad to see some other people have done the same thing. Way to go!

That’s pretty innovative. Very creative use of space… I’m going to have to consider similar designs.
