I was requested to build a birdhouse for a birthday gift. So I came up with this one. The root beer roof came from the fact that the birthday girl loves root beer. I did enjoy building it because it is something very different from what I usually build. In fact I am thinking about build one for my house! Nicely done. I love the signs.
I heard birds are very particular in the type of house they stay in, the hole has to be only a certain size, some needs a perch and others don’t. Did you have to research the type of birds in your area and build the house to suit?
I always wanted to have a birdhouse in my backyard but have no idea what type of birds are in my area in order to build the proper house. Any help on this? Where did you go to research this?

Paul, I did no research on the type of birds, the size of holes or anything like that. I just figured that I would make a smaller hole and it would attract small birds. Thanks Rance! I love the way the cans look on top of it!
