This coffee table was initially the base for my bridge inspired coffee table, however when I dry fit them it just didn’t look right. Then I figured, I’m building two coffee tables now. I designed a new top, and poof, my wife’s favorite piece of furniture. I used Walnut and Cherry and alternated the them. The curved support is connected to the base with a large stopped sliding dovetail. Mortise and tennon joinery throughout. The top and bottom shelf are veneered.

Thanks for the nice comments. If your going to the San Diego fair, this table is on display at the design in wood competition starting tomorrow until July 4th.

Its funny you mention that… I will in fact be attending the San Diego fair this year (think on the 4th of July). Will the exhibit still be open? Would absolutely love to see this piece in person….

Maveric777 Yes, the exhibit runs through the entire fair. I think the fourth of July is the last day.
Try not to overdose on the gauntlet of fried food on the way to the exhibit.
