This celtic style cross is birch with a bit of stain on it…not sure what kind of stain tho just that it was Formby’s as the bottle was pretty old and had drips all covering the label pretty well. Its about 11 inches top top bottom all one piece. A lil poly spray. Not a great work of art but it was fun doing.

Did you use a scroll saw and forstner bit for the inside of the circle?

Great question Derosa, thanks for asking! I should have said so when I posted the picture.

Yes I used a scroll saw to cut the basic shape out, then I used an old spade bit to drill the four center holes (I can’t afford no fancy expensive forstner bit LOL!). Then I used a Wecheer power carver and kutzal bit to reduce the stock of the ring, swapped to a few different fluted carbide ball shapes to rusticate the ring and sanded the heck out of it.
