I made this intending to use it as a domino box but was 1/16” too short… oh well. I used a board with a knot in it that I resawed for the sides. I included the void as a finer pull in the lid. Enjoy! -- "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it." Master Oogway

Very nice. I just built almost the exact same box with my daughter. Ours has a maple top with a knot. I’ll post it after the final finish goes on.

Nicely done. Is the box too short, or the dominos just too long? Maybe the next project is a well fitted custom set of dominos?

Now there’s the real meaning of thinking outside…. or should I say “on top of the box”. Really like the idea of the void being the lid pull…... or are you sure you’re just “knot” trying to cover your mistake?

you have made a very nice box. strange how a lot of furniture makers cut ot the knos to me they just ad charactor lovely piece of wood
