Carved from Eastern Cedar. The split was planned and a natural part of the wood I was intending to highlight. I did a little light touch up with a carving tool to clean up the split and hand sanded/finished off the lathe (didn’t trust my hand/fingers to the split while spinning).
I appreciate feedback and critiques.
Wood: Eastern Cedar
Diameter: 6”
Height: 5”
Finish: Shellac and buffed to shine

Very nice. I like that you used cedar. People tend to overlook it for artistic use or fine woodworking.
Thanks for posting. Fav’d.

You’ve got a nice form with this one Bill, pleased to see you left it with a smooth satin type finish.
great job all round ;)
