Turkey call striker

Made from walnut dimensions 3/16 of an inch going to 3/4 of an inch in diameter, eight inches long. This striker had the challenge of turning something down to 3/16 of an inch without exploding. Of course being somewhat of a new woodturner it made me a little nervous. But no problems everything worked out ok. The finish on this project was boiled linseed oil with a couple of coats of tung oil then a wax finsh.

Hey patron sorry bro i guess i should explain it goes with a friction call for turkey hunting. The striker is used to rub on a piece of slate or crystal.

Wow…looks like a delicate undertaking to get that turned down to something so thin! Impressive :-)
The back and forth between you and Patron made me smile…..
You should make a video some time so we can all hear how the striker sounds on the slate/crystal…and how the first turkey call sounds! Maybe your hunting buddy at work can demonstrate them and you can video it!
