This started out as frustration over the price of most sabiki rods around where I live… I had this telescopic rod that had broken guides and was missing its tip, I had a few odd roller guides and some scrap wood from jam chucks. Add em all up and ya get a three dollar sabiki rod with a hand turned sabiki tip. I scrapped all but the lower three sections of the rod, drilled a hole for the line to drop in to and turned a sabiki tip to fit… it sure is UGLY but the pin fish never see it coming! (Or perhaps they are getting the hook stuck in their lip while they are laughing at me..either way, I got bait!)

i was just reading
where t is illegal in some states to catch fish by hand

this broken oldie
would solve that problem well

never seen or heard of this type
of pole before

but if it catches fish
you got a winner

well done

very nice. Sure beats getting hooks snaged in your shirt and arm all day.
