Cherry Box With Polished Brass Medallion

I was commissioned to make a custom box for a Colonel in the Marines so this is what I came up with. I always love working with Cherry so it was a natural fit for a simple yet formal box. I just had to integrate polished brass since it is part of the legacy of the Marines. I ended up creating the old version of the US Marine EGA Logo by drawing it by hand, scanning it into my computer, and engraved it into a piece of polished brass plate on my cnc engraver. Wish I had a better picture for you…...

Great Job Dave, on this, and the other two of your latest trio of boxes!!
Your CNC work is terrific, and your woodworking is spot-on…
I read on your homepage that you’re a Tool & Die man… That would certainly explain the precision with which you work!!
I have a hunch that you have another gem (or two) up your sleeve… :)
