We live in a new subdivision with a lot of construction still going on. On a weekly basis I see a lot of usable materials get thrown out so I started to reclaim some of it. In this case I reclaimed a lot of 2×4s that had been used for framing supports and cut offs. After some clean up and cutting down I turned the 2×4s into a set of bookcases and a small TV stand for our office. Like with some of my other projects I left a lot of the nail holes unfilled and other notches and wear marks untouched. Most of it was painted flat light green and the shelf surfaces were stained a mahogany/cherry color to match the existing desk in the office.

You are either extremely lucky, or extremely patient. Construction grade 2x stock has a really band tendency to twist the second you machine it…
You really made something nice out of what otherwise would have been junk wood for sure!
