This is one of my earier projects. Its a cedar planter box finished in Spar Varnish. Its been outside for about 2 years now and its still looks pretty new. The last picture is from today with some herbs in it.
I also just added another layer of finish this spring so it will last a while longer.
I based it off of a picture a I saw online. I drew up the plans myself before I figured out how to use sketchup.
Hope this gives someone food or thought for a future project.
Regards,
Mauricio

Hi David,
Thanks for posting, I was beggining to think no body liked planter boxes!
It took me so long to do and its is almost too nice to put outside. The spar varnish is working like a champ though.
If I had to do it again I would think about a simpler way of doing it. The individual slats that had to have a tenon and rounded edges routed on each one tool a long time and is a pain to fit in the frame.

Of course we like planters. If fact, I like it so well that I am going to make one like yours. It is the best one I’ve seen. Nice job on it.
