This is all done with scrap/found lumber. Actually the center top piece had split apart…I planed and sanded its edges and used it anyway. The curved side trim pieces were found that way, much easier than trying to bend them myself. The text on the top is the Buddhist Mantra of Compassion…I enlarged the original text, and then transferred it to the wood in pencil. After that I painted it in black and added the scroll type work around the letters. The finish is low voc Safecoat durostain Mahogany, black paint, watered down and then wiped off/sanded down, and finally 2 coats of raw linseed oil on the top. This piece is the size of a tall nightstand.

There is no one thing I can put my finger on, but this piece just speaks to me. I love it and can’t stop looking at it. Thanks for sharing it.

How about it, Doc!? This is one bad mama jama. I love this table. I love the colors, the text design (seriously flipping awesome. This design is right down my alley), and the fact that it’s reused wood. Wow, I am instantly gonna check out the rest of your stuff, JT. Nice initials, btw.

This is really really lovely! Love the carving on the top and the irregular top! Nice!
