They are gorgeous. Flawless execution. I have a question regarding maple and painting that may be you can answer.

Maple is a beautiful wood with nice grain. Does it still show after you lacquer it ? if not, why would customers ask you to use expensive wood to have it painted? I am asking because I am building floor to ceiling bookshelves for my house and I am debating whether or not I should stain it to highlight grain and joints or paint it, in which case perhaps i can use cheaper wood?

thank you. I use maple because it is durable and will last longer to more abuse . If you are going to spend a great deal of time to make something you should make it last
