Project Information

With a Christmas gift of $50, I built this Prayer Kneeler (Prie Dieu).
The fold-up kneeler is also a bible box. I used a couple of layers of anti-fatigue mat for cushion covered with suede of a coat from Goodwill. The cross and splines are Purple Heart on Red Oak.
The 8/4 sides are a glue-up to save cost and weight.

Wow, this is great. Yeah, purple heart. Purple is royalty like the one who bore that cross. Nice. Did you do this for you, your church, were you commissioned? Good job anyways!

Hi Rusty,

I'm new here and don't know how this works, but I would love to make this for myself. Any chance you have plans for it?

I have been admiring this for a while - my husband is an Episcopal priest and I would love to give him a kneeler like this for our home! He would like one for his office at the church as well, and I think the church is interested in having a couple more in the chapel. I'm still trying to figure out how to purchase the plans from you!! Any help is appreciated :)

Thanks in advance!

This is Rusty's daughter, Heather. I happened to find this website wrote down and decided to take a look around. My Daddy died of cancer September 2, 2016. He was an engineer his whole life and has very detailed plans on all his projects, but I am not sure what mom and I are going to do with them. I am open to suggestions to what we have on this project. My email is heatherlawson444@gmail.com

Thanks, Heather

Heather, I am very sorry that your father has passed. Our church burned down New Year's Day 2016. We lost everything but the social hall. We are having services there. Today or minister asked for a prayer kneeler so my wife
Volunteered me to do so. I found your fathers picture of what he built. I would love to have the plans and would be willing to pay for them. You can reach me at Alan.stampe@gmail.com. Thank you for your time.
